SEWING ENTERPRISE

SEWING ENTERPRISE

With the donation of five sewing machines, Kasupe launched a sewing enterprise that now supplies uniforms to the nursery and primary schools.

It also serves as a training ground for other women in the community. Over ten women have directly benefited, acquiring vocational skills and the means to support their families.

My story – Alice Polepole

“I am Alice Polepole from the village of Chigonere, Mangochi. In 2009, Kasupe gave me and four other women the chance to learn sewing and we managed to sew school uniforms for the children of the village . We later taught other women in our community, and I received a sewing machine as a gift. Now, I support my family by earning money through sewing clothes for other people. I manage to pay school fees and buy basic necesseties to feed my family.”
