FROM CLASSROOMS TO CAREERS

FROM CLASSROOMS TO CAREERS

School is a beginning, not an end. We invest in hands-on skills that open doors to work.

Our carpentry and joinery workshop trains school leavers to produce furniture and fixtures for our buildings and for sale. Among the first five trainees was a young woman who went on to open her own small business. That is the outcome we look for. Confidence, income and the ability to support a family.

Inside the primary school, the desks initiative has changed daily learning. From Standard 3 and upwards, pupils have proper furniture that supports posture and attention. The school is now a designated exam centre for two neighbouring schools, which lifts its status and reduces travel for candidates. Better furniture sounds simple. It protects learning time and student dignity.

Digital access matters too. In 2022, we installed a solar system that powers the lighting and computer suite. Evening study is now possible, and training uses real tools, not just theory. Reliable power links directly to employability because pupils can practise typing, research, and basic software. These skills are valuable whether a young person chooses a trade, further study or a small enterprise.

If you have seen photos of new desks or a fresh cohort in the workshop, here is how it fits together. Practical investments turn classroom learning into livelihoods. They make school a launchpad.
